In Memory of Bette Hahner

Bette Hahner of Chatham passed away peacefully on March 27th. Born in New York City, she married her beloved husband Jeff in 1962 and spent 28 wonderful years in Connecticut before retiring to Chatham in 2000, where their happiest times began. Bette had a passion for entertaining and gardening. In Chatham, she dedicated countless hours to her gardens while managing luncheons and events for the Chatham Garden Club, where she served as past president, as well as the Monomoy Yacht Club, Chatham-Harwich Newcomers Club, CONCH, and Friends of the Eldredge Library. Her enthusiasm and commitment were contagious, making her a beloved figure in the community. In 2025, she was honored as the Grand Marshal of the July 4th parade in Chatham. Bette leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Jeff, and her cherished son Tim of Bloomington, Minnesota, along with her adorable dog "You're so cute!" Emmie. The family requests that donations be made in her name to the Chatham Garden Club.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Chatham, 650 Main St, Chatham, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
